Looking for wedding musicians? Here are some tips/what to look for as you search...

Experience. Experience. Experience.

As you’re searching for your wedding vendor team, experience is everything.

Many strong, professional musicians are not experienced wedding musicians, and therefore not accustomed to the nuanced timing, flexibility, and flow required on-site. When we begin working with new musicians, the first and most important thing we reiterate is that while we love their desire to play each note true to the sheet music’s form or flow, ceremony rigidity/inflexibility can make or break the full experience for both the client and the musician team.

Often, the unexpected occurs the day of the ceremony. The flower girl stops walking and returns to the beginning of the aisle, the bride is slightly delayed prior to her entrance, the weather is expected to turn so the schedule needs to fluctuate, the flower “dog” makes a run for it…we could go on and on. The musicians’ ability to continue and go with the flow (making it seem less awkward) is important.

Is your ceremony delayed 10 minutes? No problem. It happens— often, in fact!

Music Selection/Versatile Sheet Music Library

We research each season to be sure that our music library/setlists are up-to-date with trending wedding song favorites. For decades, there seemed to be a sort of “expected” classical and pops setlist. Growing and maintaining a current library is important as our clients tend to prefer modern, fun covers. We suggest selecting pieces the family and guests recognize to keep engagement high throughout the event.

From a truly evolving Top 40 list to obscure alternative/rock pieces, we like to offer something for everyone. (And yes, we kept a few classical favorite setlist options!)

Is your vendor insured?

It’s better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have coverage. We are fully insured and willing to share our liability insurance certificate with our clients, vendors, or planners as needed. We can list your venue as an “additional insured” easily.
